so, people who complain all the time really bug me, but dammit, i am so miserable. i have a very small circle of friends that i've had since high school. we all made our way out here from georgia and have gone through varying degrees of closeness, but currently, they are all ignoring me. they don't call, they don't respond to my emails or messages, they all get together and don't invite me, and now they've decided to go into business together and are all moving away. my boyfriend and i broke up last night because, while we still care for each other, being 2000 miles apart for an indeterminable amount of time just isn't going to work. and then to top it off, another old friend stood me up for coffee this morning. he had been suggesting we get together for weeks and weeks but never following through, and when we finally set a date, he didn't show. and mind you, i got up at 6am on my day off to meet him before he had to go to work. and, although i just got paid a couple of days ago, i am pretty damn broke. i get 4 day weekends in which the only people i talk to work at the grocery store, and that's if i don't go through the u-scan. what the hell happened to my life? i used to be really really happy and had lots of friends. oh, and by the way, i hate my job too. not really the work, but the people. i think if it were just the work, i'd be ok with that. what do you do when you work in a small place with people you can't stand? this sucks. i don't know what to do about it either.

I keep wanting to respond about Atlanta. I think Atlanta is a good city if you end up in the right place (read: intown). I can't imagine how different it must be from Portland though. I think there are good people here, and enough interesting areas and things going on to keep things interesting. Atlanta is kind of a big small town.
I'd say one of the worse things about the city is no decent public transportation to speak of. But if you live and work intown, you don't have to worry about spending two hours in your car everyday like some people.
Hope things start looking up for you soon. Don't settle for less than you deserve.
