I formally declare 2011 a misadventure. As of this moment, I'm writing it off completely. Anything good that managed to happen in 2011 will be rounded up or down to the closest year. That includes wildly successful spoken word reading of December 28, which is now a January 2012 event, and that nice trip to Portland my girlfriend and I took in July. Something other good shit must have happened last year, but I can't remember it.

Oh yeah! "Community." I started watching "Community." And Fucked Up put out a great record. Rounding both to the nearest.

I have high hopes for this year. After a time I had no hopes for last year, so there's nowhere to go but up. But there's a part of me that believes that we can still win this thing, you know? We can still come out of this life feeling like we've lived it well. All it takes is some faith, positive thinking, and a wee bit of fuzzy math.
