I'm falling in love with all sorts of things all over again. For example!
Radiohead! I've been listening to OK Computer CONSTANTLY for the last month, and it's like I've never heard it before. I really dig this band, what they stand for, and what they want to achieve with thier music. I've heard some really awesome statements by thom and its just refreshing in a climate of musical... well... bullshit.
Reading! You heard right! That thing where you pick up a bound stack of paper and stare at dry ink for hours on end! Your brain is going "WOW! This shit is fun!" Well, I've gotten back into that. I found a bunch of books I had that I'd never gotten to reading, and now I want to read them all. Hurray for reading!
Writing! The opposite of reading! This shit is fun..... maybe even more fun than reading......... maaaaaybe even more fun than radiohead. I'm thinking of writing a few screenplays - they say you should always head out to LA with a few screenplays in hand. Even though thats not exactly what I'm gonna do when I get out there, someday I'd like to (dream alert - look away if you're not a nice person) direct. So writing is totally my new green.
Skateboarding! I stopped skating for a few years because of school, so i got real rusty. Lemme get something straight with you - I was never really good to begin with. But since I've been home I hopped back on the board and like just riding it around like a giant baby. I'm fucking ACHING to buy a longboard though - my buddy Thom back in detroit has a longboard and those things are the sweetest, smoothest rides. I definately need to get one before I head out to LA!!! YARRR!!!
Mountain Dew! For the longest time I hated mountain dew. I hated everything about it. I hated it's fucking spin-off bullshit fake mountain dew brethren. I hated its color, i hated its taste. I turned away and it stabbed me in the back...... right in the heart. I was a convert - over to $.58 meijer brand 2 litre Dr. Pepper rip-off bullshit. Now I know what you're thinking.... "why beatnik, you no good, insensitive, hipocritical fuckwit. how dare you. Well don't get so antsy, cuz I went and bought some mountain dew on tuesday, and it's my friend again..... that whole thing was lame.
Expensive Clothes! I'm a dumbfuck! Being out of school and all, I can go spend money that I don't have! Clothes that cost more than 50 bucks should be outlawed. I hate that bullshit. Fuck designers. Thanks for the debt, GAP.
Suicidegirls! Working your ass off for months makes you forget about EVERYTHING in your life - even girls. But alas, I've graduated, and now I have time to do all sorts of things, like post obscenely long journal entries on my favoritest site in the whole wide world web. So here's to all of you reading this! All 2 of you!
