I was thinking about the Medusa and the fact that she was immortal, lived alone in the ruins of a secluded temple and yet her gardens were full of stone men who had died trying to conquer her. Why was the conquest of Medusa worth death? It seems an interesting metaphor. For those who don't know: Perseus slew the Medusa and used her head to kill the Kraken.
