If hundreds of tightly packed, sweaty people in a neverending sea of humanity could ever be described as "fun," this would be that time. Of course, I'm sure I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun at Sunset Junction if it weren't for all the people I ran into there, several of whom are good friends I hadn't seen in awhile, and seeing them really made my night. I just wish I brought a camera. I need to just pony up and get myself a fucking Treo. But I haven't yet, so I keep finding myself wishing I'd brought a camera, and you get no pics in my journal. Anyhow...

As I arrived, I was looking for people I knew, and bumped into Missy, Cricket, Sawa, and Cedar. It was great meeting Missy, Cricket, and Sawa, but I was especially happy to see Cedar. Not just because I haven't seen her in forever, but because I'd been walking for a half hour through all those people and was searching for a familiar face, and suddenly there was a very familiar face. smile

The burlesque show was great, though I could only actually see a couple of the acts at the end. Maxx and I were letting our friends climb on our backs so they could see, but we realized it would be easier if we just made our way up to the front. So following our human train to the front right side of the stage, I got to see the last couple of acts. If there's one thing I took away from seeing the show, it's that Stormy is a fucking rock star. I mean, we all knew that, right? But seriously, she's like the old school throwing-tvs-off-hotel-balconies kind of rock star. The rest of the girls were hot as always, of course, and seeing Pearl do her hula-hooping act is always a great spectacle, but...yeah. Stormy.

I was getting a wee bit cramped and overheated by the time the New York Dolls hit the stage, so we scooted out of there and ran around finding various people and herding them toward an exit. I know, we should be shot for leaving during the New York Dolls, but I was seriously about ready to faint, and needed some fresh air. Plus, my overriding concern at the time was to not lose all of my friends in the crowd, which was difficult enough as it was, even though we were right next to each other.

After we made our escape, we wandered over to Manda and LTrain's place, which was about a billion degrees and uninhabitable for the first 20 minutes or so we were there (but was otherwise really, really nice). After some of the people filtered out, Manda made a fantastic tofu-soyrizo scramble and we all went over to the Burgundy Room for a couple of post-post-show drinks.

Seriously, the best thing about the whole thing was the people. I met some new people, and got to see some people I don't get to see enough, and because of that, it could have been Bob's One-Man Banjo Band on stage and I would've had a great time.

I wish that I'd made it out on Sunday. It was still great to see you all the next two days, though. SGLA is my favorite part of SG.
