So I found this absolutely cute little 1 Bedroom place in Long Beach today, which will hopefully be mine in a few weeks. Coming up with enough cash for the deposit ought to be interesting, and the parking blows. But the parking blows throughout most of Long Beach, and the owner lives behind the house here, so I wont have to deal with some nazi property management group.
It's bright fucking yellow and has a beautiful kitchen counter made with real ceramic tiles that have colorful patterns on them, and a clawfoot bathtub...I love it...and it's not attached to another house or anything, so no creeping around late at night trying to avoid waking the neighbors through paper-thin walls anymore..and it's within walking distance of several cool coffee shops and the Art theatre, where they show Rocky Horror, Spike & Mike's Sick & Twisted Animation Festival, and all sorts of wonderful foreign films, which is good because I'll have to be doing a lot of walking to interesting places to avoid giving up my precious parking space (assuming I can find one in the first place). I hope I get it. I hope I can afford it.

On the Wendi scene: My Mom visited the other night, and neither of us could bring ourselves to tell her we're divorcing. That's going to be the hardest part: telling my parents. They adore Wendi, and they're having a hard enough time dealing with us moving to different cities.
Wendi is a wonderful, powerful person. I have an immense amount of respect for her, and I think she's going to do some really great things in terms of fighting the perception of God as masculine (or having gender at all) and attitudes about women in the church. But since I don't share her faith, it'd be hard for me to really be her partner in that journey. Besides, she needs to have the freedom to run off to Africa to teach blind children to read braille or fight whatever other battles she needs to fight without dragging me around, weighing her down. I love her, so I must set her free.

It would be soooo cool if you came to one of our shows! I hope that gets to happen some day. It might be fun for you to get out and do something different when you feel up to going out again.
On a serious note, I noticed from your journal postings that you are going through tough time right now. I am sorry to hear this and wish the very best for you. Your story deserves a happy ending.
