I tried describing everything that has happened to me since last Wednesday but it was too depressing. It was like I was losing all of the passion and intensity with every word I typed. As much love and respect I have for the written word, not every experience can be done justice through writing.
For those of you thinking "wtf!?" I am talking about Nine Inch Nails. About seeing them in Melbourne and twice in Sydney. About being given backstage passes after every show. About sitting in Gloria Jeans on Chapel St having a coffee when Jeordie and Allessandro walk in with their tour manager. About seeing them sound check before the Saturday show. About hearing The Wretched at the Hordern in front of no more than 30 people. About being able to meet Trent and having actual words come out. About Trent shaking my hand and saying "Hi, it's nice to meet you'. About meeting the rest of the band (insert gushy, girly comment here: I may be in love with Aaron North, don't ask me to explain, I don't exactly understand it either). About seeing some of the songs I love more than anything else in the world performed live, about being ripped apart and healed again, over and over. About being able to share this experience with two of the most special people I've ever known, as well as a new friend, who I hope to see again sooner rather than later.
Trying so hard not to feel empty as I descend back into habit and routine and banality but, my God, it is hard indeed.
