"Cause the only time your happy, is when you're all fucked up... you can wallow in your misery till you're shit shit shit shit shit shit outa' luck."
The show last night was real good. Other than losing 10 bucks in a drunken pool bet, everything was aces. I missed the openers but it didn't bother me, I heard from everyone they were a big letdown anyway. Just about everyone important made it out... all my pals from around the city as well as Jason and another cool skin from Tulsa... plus my future tattoo artist Kelly from Dallas.
So the band started rockin' at around 11:30 and apart from some real sound difficulties... which is quite common at my club... they played a really good set and kept my foot tapping for the better part of an hour. Right after the show I had to scat so I told my ride to give me a minute or two and I went to find Kelly to say hey. He was pretty drunk, in a real good mood, and he kept telling me how cool I was. I think the threads must have impressed him since I'm just 19, in any sense it was a real big compliment. I did do my best to dress sharp that night... always do for the important shows and when I'll be meeting cool people. So anyway, I talk about the tattoo work I want done a little bit and mention that It's only money keeping me from it right now, and I'll be down to Dallas as soon as I have the funds. This is the kicker right here... what turned my night from great to fuckin great. He tells me, and I'm paraphrasing, if you don't quite have the cash come on down anyway, we take care of our own, and I'd love to do some work on you.
For a cat I had met 5 minutes earlier, and only talked to for about a week prior on AIM, he had to be one of the coolest people I've met in recent memory. I've seen some of his work and I like it, and if he's going to hook me up, I might just have to make him the guy that does ALL my work. Either tonight or tomorrow after he's back at home and rested up a little, I'm going to give him a yell and possibly work out a few details. The thought of getting this work going without the months and months of planning and saving is definately a mood lifter. Yesterday was just a damn good day.
Now it's just a couple days of relaxing till I got myself a shiny new pool cue and a black leather 2B/2S tube case. Not to mention a pocket full of spending money. Life ain't too bad right now. Let's hope it stays in this position for as LONG as possible. A break is much needed.
