I just got back from the best camping trip ever. First of all, it was awesome because it's been so goddamn long since I've been camping. We did a heck of a lot of drinking, but I am pretty sure I remember having a good time. I stayed up until 3 or 4 in the morning every night, thus being one of the last campers awake and still got up around 7:30 or 8 each morning, thus being one of the first campers awake. That's just me. I don't sleep.
I didn't know most of the people I was camping with, but much to my delight, they were some incredible folks and nearly all of them were fucking talented. How do I know this you ask?
Because we had live band karaoke every night, affectionately known as campeoke. They weren't kidding about it either, drums, electric guitars, bass, melodica, microphones and even a few lyrics. Freaking awesome. My favorite moment was when my friend Mark got up and busted out REM's End of the World sans lyrics without missing a beat.
Got a little time in the river too, which was great despite the fact that I could probably have cut glass with my nipples. Eh. What're you going to do? It's camping, right?
