I had an awesome time in Seattle last weekend. It was strange. I went up there thinking that it would be all about partying and going crazy. I didn't think I would get much out of the conference, but the conference ended up being the best part of the trip.
For one thing (and I won't bore you with the details) it was really nice to have the work I do recogized and acknowledged. I think sometimes, you have to step outside of your own little circle in order to see how good you have things.
I went a little crazy on Thursday night. Actually, I got off work and met a friend for drinks at Barcode. I went to high school with him and except for the most recent occasions(twice), I haven't seen him since. I was kind of nervous because I hadn't seen him in so long and he was there with all his friends. I started drinking Makers Manhattans like they were going out of style and then suddenly, I was being put in a cab and being sent home. Yikes. How embarrassing!
I crawled into work the next morning and the first thing that anyone says to me is "Wow! You look hung over!"
I guess I needed more than lipgloss to cover that night up.
