Co-worker movie night last night. We watched Crank starring every-body's favorite British Transporter, Jason Statham. It was a little over the top ... even for me. Though the moment in china town where our protagonist is trying to keep up his adrenaline by banging his girl in the middle of the plaza did get a ton of snickers and laughs around the room. Paired with this movie was B13 ou Banlieue 13... A french movie staring David Belle, the founder of the extreme walking movement called Parkour. which was freaking awesome. Heh. no fear!

B13 is great fun. Both leads are engaging and it is very stylish without going over the top.
I haven't seen Crank but have suffered most other Jason Statham efforts. Is he once again so stiff and awkward that one would think he had never acted before? Does his accent waver between English, American, Transatlantic and South African all in a single sentence?
Still it is easy to mock and harder to do. I should really keep my catty remarks to myself until I have a few lead roles under my belt. He is probably a perfectly engaging individual.
