So its been announced today that Peter Capaldi will become the 12th Doctor. Its a bittersweet feeling because I am very sad at Matt Smiths leaving but at the same time I am very excited for Peter Capaldi becoming The Doctor.

For me in all honesty I am not at all bothered by the fact he is an older actor because well why shouldn't The Doctor be played by someone older. I am looking forward to him as The Doctor. And he has also been in Doctor Who before in the 10th Doctor era in the episodes Fires of Pompeii. And he was also in the series The Thick of it.
