I am soooo sore and tired. Those shows were absolutely amazing! I have boot prints all over my chest and a couple on my forehead from the stage divers at the Subhumand show on Friday. Youth Brigade was pretty mellow though.
So...I have a new cat. The water guy was here on Friday morning to drop off bottled water for me and stood there with the door open. I was busy trying to keep the cats inside when I see a little cat walk in the apartment. She's maybe 10 weeks old...if that. Just the sweetest little gray Tabby with beautiful green eyes. Kalpana likes her just fine and plays with her all of the time. Miette hates her guts and tries to beat the shit out of her whenever I'm not looking.
Had to give the little one a nice bath yesterday though. I saw her frantically chewing at her leg and went, "Oh fuck...FLEAS!!" Didn't even dawn on me to check right away. I pick her up and spread her legs and her belly was just covered. I knew enough not to get any flea shampoo so I got a gentle cat/kitten regular kind instead. There was probably a dozen or so drowned by the end of the bath. Poor thing was soooo not happy with the bath idea. Got rid of the fleas though. Took a flea comb to her next and grabbed another four or so. She's flea free not as far as I can tell. The other two get regular doses of Revolution so I'm not really worried about them.
I wish I had the $$ to see if she is FHIV or Leukemia positive though. I really don't know what to do with her. I love her to death but I don't think I want 3 cats right now.
I hate decisions!!

I remember once when I was staying at a friends house the room I was given for the night had fleas - really bad, it was really late so going and getting spray was not an option. On the other hand I had this whole McGuyver thing going on so I got an aluminum pie tin, some dishwashing liquid and some water, and a candle. I put the lit candle in the pie tin with the soapy water and the fleas went after the candle but ended up in the soapy water instead where they met their demise. Don't work on eggs, but its a great enviro-friendly way of killing the blood sucking bastards!
