So I got into the Warhammer Online Open Beta. And well so far I am unimpressed with the game. Don't get me wrong, it is fun and it's pretty easy to pick up and its not too heavy on the graphic card. But the game just fails to impress me. I dunno, I guess it's because there just isn't much story to Warhammer, and that's why it doesn't pull me in. Sure there are some great stories involved in the tabletop campaigns, but somehow this just doesn't feel connected to those. I'm not even sure if any characters of note are in the game to meet. If I knew that I could meet Grimgor or Archeon somewhere in the game I would totally be more interested. But I somehow doubt they are in there. And while the graphics are great I must say they seem to force eyestrain a bit with the detail involved. I love that my orc has a metal plate in his head that glints in the sunlight, but its kind of tough to get a close up on it without the camera going through the character. Also many mobs within the game become easily evade bugged even when they don't move. The biggest problem I see is that the game seems to rely far too much on its pvp aspects. And while fun, from what I've read into them they are nothing more than just capture and hold the point maps. That's going to get rather boring in the long run I think.
