For those of you who aren't one the Facebook here's a quick update:

I have diabetes.

It kind of sucks but for the most part it's not that big a deal. I am currently on oral medication to get my blood sugar down. Me and The Missus are adjusting our diet to get my blood sugar down as well (more about that in a minute). Just want to take a moment to say that she's been super cool about this whole thing (also, more about that in a minute).

The diet.

Amy and I are now going vegan (I know, shock and horror). All in all this new diet that is extremely high in complex carbs has been super yummy. With the exception of a small bit of backsliding last nigh (goddamn you bacon cheeseburger!) I haven't had any animal product in my system since Sunday night. To be honest, I don't really miss it (but that could just be the bacon cheeseburger still coursing through my veins). Amy's been making these awesome meals (hell, I've even been helping in the kitchen, I'm sure I'm more harm than good, but so be it. Damnit, I'm going to learn and actually turn myself into a help around this house instead of a huge pain in the ass!) like soy bean waffles, vegan chili, tofu scrambles and the like. It's all been super tasty and she's a fucking rock star for being here for me through this!

Last night we went and saw Southern Culture on the Skids, and as always they put on a awesome live show. As I always say about bands I love, if you get the chance to see them in your neck of the woods you should totally do so.
