So last night I went to the Wiltern and saw the Mars Volta.....HOLY SHIT!!!!

I have been going to concerts for forever....20 + years....and I have seen some amazing bands....KISS in the 70's, full make-up, Zepplin, Van Halen on thier first tour, too many 80's metal shows....Metallica with Cliff Burton, Ozzy with Rhandy Rhodes, Queen!!!!....up to the present day stand-outs....TooL (still the best show ever) APC, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, Deftones in a tiny amphitheater in FL......Just a little background before my next statement.

Mars Volta was at the very top of the list!!!! The second best show I have ever been to!!!! No opening act...they came out at 8:40 and played for 2 fucking hours straight.....absolutely one of the most talented and hardest hitting drummers I have ever had the honor to see perform....IF YOU GET A CHANCE TO SEE THE MARS VOLTA....GO!!!!!!!! Whatever you have to do...get your ass to that show....you will be blown away!

Killer night....I was so amped after the show I could not sleep...played my bass all night, and I am still charged up!!!!! Life is all about moments like last night....music rules!!!

OK OK...I am done!... Anyway, I wish everyone a killer weekend, and all you mothers out there a happy mothers day....

Suggestion for the day/weekend. Leave the TV off, read a book, or better yet...get into some music....go pick up a new disc or download some artists that may not be in your comfort zone.....expand your musical horizons...see how much better you feel!
