Fortunately, this cold has turned out to be a pretty mild one. I think the homeopathics I've been taking have helped a bit which I'm glad for.
For my 21st Birthday, I had dinner and dessert with friends. How's that for a good time? Woohoo!
I don't drink whatsoever, so the bar scene wasn't going to happen anyway. I had a good time though. One of my friends gave me a journal with a leather cover with Botticelli's Three Graces on it (made in Italy) and I love it. I need a journal for my trip and this one is perfect. Another one of my friends that came does some stand-up comedy so he had me laughing a lot as always and it definitely made up for the day I had at work.
Work just kind of sucked. I dealt with a sick, tired, and cranky 21 month old who slept on/off on my lap (wouldn't go down in his crib) most of the day. He had like 3 naps with 20-40 minute breaks in between and this kid would wake up for whatever reason, fuss and cry, and shift shift shift for like 5 minutes straight and wouldn't let himself fall back to sleep even though he still wanted to sleep. If I tried to help him settle or put my hand on him, he'd fuss more. It was pretty frustrating because he'd do this like 6 times within 3-4 hours. He would eventually fall back to sleep, but it was an annoying process. The worst part was in the morning. As mentioned, the kid was sick so he was booger-faced he had been drooling a lot... just kinda gross. Well I was playing with him in the kitchen and he turned to run away and his ear grazed a chair. So of course he collapses on the ground and starts crying (facing the floor). I go to pick him up and he turns to me and smack! His booger and drool covered mouth plants itself straight onto my mouth (and he was not trying to kiss me, that's just where it ended up). It was absolutely disgusting. I'm so glad my mouth was closed when it happened. I put him back down and washed my mouth off. I so did not want that for my birthday.
Oh, and then the family I got placed with for the day after my birthday... the older kid (3yo) shared my birthday too! I got birthday cake at work, how awesome is that?!
It's weird to know so many people with the same birthday... I'm aware of 3 people on SG, that kid, and I have 2 guy friends who share it with me. I like my birthday... It's smack dab in the middle of the Pisces month (depending on the year, otherwise it's just a day off) so I'm a typical Pisces
