I think I've figured out what the problem is. I keep winding up on flights with fucking politicians. That's why they keep getting canceled, delayed, or suffer in-flight emergencies Of course, that's an occupational hazard of flying into and out of Reagan National Airport.
On the subject of Reagan, the man has a fuckload of stuff named after him. The aforementioned airport, an International Trade Center in DC, his presidential library, and I'm sure other assorted stuff in Dixon, IL, and California.
Went to Irma's birthday party last night, and got my Irma and Cammie fix in. Irma said that she's totally going to steal me as a friend from Cammie, since Cammie neglects me (and everyone else in the world). They're some of the people I'm going to miss when I'm fully moved to DC. Of course, I look at it this way....I haven't worked in NOLA in nearly 3 years, including the last year+ in Baton Rouge. I know Baton Rouge is only 75 miles from NOLA, but that's not a drive I'm physically able to do more than once/twice a week. I've been saying I've wanted to live in DC since I worked there in 2004, and there's so much more stuff to do/shows to see/attractive, single women to meet. I'm an oddity in my group of friends, one of the last holdouts who isn't married or cohabitating. At least in DC it's relatively more normal to be sliding into your mid-30s and still be single.
Anyone in the DC area reads this, feel free to drop me a line. I was unable to make the last public meet & greet event, so my application to join the DC group is still pending. Personally, I think it's a little silly to make geography-based groups "private" groups, but hey, I don't run the site.
