alas, how did i know?

last night my hubby and i had a date. a real date, including food, socializing with some long lost friends, and a hotel room. we finally roll into the suite at about 1am, and after a leisurely bath and about 2 minutes of cable, the sitter calls and says that the oldest of our offspring has a fever of 104. and just like that *POOF* gone. everything but the fear that in the hour it's going to take to get home, our daughter might have a brain fever that will make her brain damaged. just like that.

as for my baby, she's fine this morning. as to our romantic early valentine evening? well, we got just enough time to each other to make it a good night =)

hope you all have a wonderful weekend. i'm going to go salvage what's left of mine, and go read to my babies smile with, of course, the knowledge that leah isn't retarded, and she'll be able to understand the words. which overall makes the weekend much better! surreal biggrin

How scary! I'm so glad your daughter is alright. Jeez, while it sucks that your romantic getaway was all but foiled, things certainly could have been worse in this case, no? I hope you're able to enjoy the rest of your weekend though!

oo:
actually i think your date sounds almost typical. I had a friend come to stay with me from another state, she got here and went to bed, got up to receive a phone call saying her youngest had fallen out of a tree, so she returned home & that was that.
I am glad to read you did extract some relaxation from the time together.
My mates girlfriend seems to be doing well considering, but i find it hard to tell. How do you judge others emotions when the face and words can mask a lot. I found the real indicator was when hugging people, they showed how scared they were by holding on tighter when you pulled them in closer. Everyone did it so i knew we were all in the same crappy mindset
