Don't remember where I got this, it's from a couple years ago.
18 Questions that could change your life
1. How do you want to be loved and have you found that? I want to be loved whole-heartedly for who and what I am. Thought I found it one time a long time ago but was wrong, she ended up breaking my heart and spirit.
2. Do you see success as a lavish banquet or a scarce commodity? Success is as lavish or scarce as you make it. It depends on your drive for success. For me it lies somewhere in between.
3. When a good friend triumphs, do you feel depleted... as if there's a limited amount of goodness to go around? It is unlimited, you fight for your own triumphs.
4. Are you capable of being alone? I have it down to perfection; I have been practicing being alone for about 15 years now. Even in most social gatherings I can be surrounded by many people and still feel alone most of the time.
5. Are you as healthy as you want to be and what steps should you be taking to make that a reality if it isn't already? I'm in better shape than I was a year ago, but still have a long way to go. There is so much I should be doing to better my health if I just put forth a little more effort.
6. How much money will you need for retirement? I don't know if you can ever have enough money with the way our economy is going there won't be enough money in social security. There is a woman I work with that is 71 years old that has to work 40 hrs a week just to survive (I don't know how she does it).
7. What can you do about the people you have disappointed and been disappointed by in your life? Life is full of disappointments on both sides. All you can do is put forth your best effort and hope its enough.
8. Are you living your life for an audience? No, I'm living my life for myself. Who cares what other people think.
9. How do you envision yourself at age 60 and what would you like to look like? That's approaching a lot faster than I would like, but by then I will have the bakery of my dreams still enjoying what I love. Not sure much will change on how I look except for maybe a little more gray in my hair.
10. What do you like most about your appearance and what are your secret vanities? Can't say there's much I do like about how I look. But my secret vanity is that I like how I don't look my age, everybody usually guesses I'm about 8 years younger than I am.
11. If you could take a 6-month sabbatical from your current job, what would you do? I would travel and see some of the places I have always dreamed of going.
12. Have you made a real home for yourself or are you still waiting for your Real Life to begin? What's keeping you from saying this is my Real Life right now? It's been a while since I had a place I could call a home of my own. For the past few years I have lived under my parents roof for a few years (of 3 children I am the only one that has been able to help them. They both have health problems so somebody has to help take care of them). I guess if I can ever break away from my current location I can finally start living my Real Life.
13. Do you believe in God and do you have spiritual beliefs that are truly your own, not someone else's?
Yes I do believe there is a God, but I don't believe that going to church every week makes a difference. They are my own beliefs; it irks me when someone else tries to push their beliefs on me. I am not dammed because I don't believe in their God.
14. If you were able to take your 10-year-old self out to lunch, what would he/she think of you? That's a good question. I'm not sure what I would think, considering how I feel about my current position in life I probably would not be too impressed.
15 Are you inhibited by fear or failing? By fear no, failing though I have experienced on a regular basis. I have failed at so many things/ideas I am kind of used to it.
16. If you had to wear your philosophy of life as a motto on a t-shirt, what would it be? Crape Diem
17. When was the last time you experienced joy? Not just pleasure, JOY. It's been so long I can't remember.
18 Is there anything unfinished in your life that you're willing to walk away from? No, I don't want to finish this life until all is done and I can honestly say I made a difference.
