I'm currently busy training for a spring hike in the Grand Canyon. Yes, you read that correctly! Over the next four months, through rain or shine, I'll be hiking many, many miles--and steep miles at that--to prepare for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Hike for Discovery" a Grand Canyon adventure set for June 3rd.
Hike for Discovery is a nonprofit endurance training program that benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I've set my sights higher than just training to hike into the canyon, though. I also aim to raise at least $4,000 to help find a cure for blood cancers, such as leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and Hodgkin's disease.
The money I raise will pay for support groups, educational programs, and financial planning for afflicted families. It will also fund grants for doctors who are working toward better treatments and a cure. Their efforts are critical, because blood cancers kill more children in the United States than any other cancer and strike even more adults. An estimated 110,960 new cases of blood cancers will be diagnosed nationwide this year alone; some 55,100 patients will die.
If you know someone that is currently battling a blood cancer or is a survivor of a blood cancer and you would like for me to hike in their honor drop me an e-mail. I will list anyone that I hike in honor for.
If you are intrested in helping with a donation or would like some more information, check out my donations website.

I know most of you don't know me very well, but this is a worthy cause. I want to surpass my goal so that more money can be raised for these horrible cancers.
** All donations are tax deductible, with at least 75 cents of each dollar going directly towards reserch and patient services. **
Feel free to pass this information along to anyone you feel might contribute to this worthy cause. Donations are being taken until the beginning of May.

oh no now that i told you i guess i'll have to kill you
no i'm just kidding. i dunno. i guess most of the stuff i do is cute. but i do it cause it's what i want to do and only later do i realize that i'm pretty much bubbles from the powerpuff girls grown up gone goth with red hair.
tee hee. i love taking pics. i kinda wish they weren't of me but i fear taking other people's pics cause i don't want to fail them and have pics that don't do them justice. if my pics don't do me justice i'm not bummed or hurt in any way. so i come up with silly pic ideas and then pass them on.
i just love using my profile pic as a mood ring. i came up with that before they reformatted. and now it really makes things fun.
hope you had a good weekend and are ready for a good week ahead
