okay, so last night i get out of my fifteen hour day and walk home exhausted.

i'm sitting on my bed trying to relax when my roommate comes out of her bedroom to get me. she brings me back into her room and points to the trash can.

suddenly there is a movement of the papers residing there.....a giant mouse is trying its hardest to crawl and/or jump its way out of the bucket.

she throws a magazine over the top of it and i bravely carry the whole thing outside. not wanting to get rabies, i kick the can over hoping the not-so-little guy will just run away into the darkness of the cobblestone street.

instead it squeals and lies still on the ground. at first i thought i had killed it, but then it starts to try and crawl away. only its back legs arent working properly so is getting all twisted up.

still sqeauling, it falls of the sidewalk and runs sideways into the darkness beyond the light.

this brings the total to:
HOUSE 3, MICE 2 (one loaf of bread and the guilt waying on my conscious)

this has turned the plans of getting a dog on hold...i'm going cat shopping this weekend instead.

Actually, if you want a pet that will take care of that mouse problem: ferret. Far better mousers than cats. Plus they're cute and loaded with personnality. The only downside is that they're expensive to buy and own. The scent isn't a problem as long as they're descented and you bath them once a week. Just FYI.

i used to sleep over my male friends house all the time and he had a ferret named Buddy. Buddy would get super jealous of me being in male friends bed and would bite my toes while i was sleeping.

dont think thats the type of behavior i want my pet to have on my visitors.
