Have fallen in to a career that could be described in some quarters as 'meedja wanker' (and frankly career is pushing it - more bouncing from one thing to the next with no set set game plan) I'm of course utterly not fussed about celebs and famous people. The bit of London I live in is full of soap stars and comedians, so it's all a bit whatever. Someone will crop up in London from time to time and make me go 'ooh' - Bill Nighy in town having a cup of tea in a cafe, or John Simm doing his supermarket shop with his family. However, all that is nothing compared with the tingle I got when confronted by a 'proper' (as used in the show) Tardis over the road at lunchtime. I *heart* Dr Who - as a kid with Tom Baker and Peter Davidson and it's new incarnation with Chris Eccleston and David Tennant. It's perfect TV - pitched for families without dumbing down or compromising, well written and well acted. The latest series finished a week or so ago and Saturday evening just wasn't the same without it. Even my son - who is not two yet - will sit and watch it (while clouting me on the head with soft toy cow). Anyways, so I walked in to reception opposite and there it was - blue and battered and looking like a prop, but still magical... even though I'm pushing 35 I couldn't resist pushing the door open slightly to look inside just in case...
