Well that was bizzare. If I'd been on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire this weekend it would have been the easiest 125,000 I've ever made. The question was 'What relation is Royd Tolkien to the Lord Of The Rings author JRR Tolkien?'
The answer is great grandson. I knew this as he used to live (might well still do) in North Wales and we've got a mutual friend, who almost choked when I phoned him to stick the idiot box on.
He's changed his surname (his mum was a Tolkien) recently; I'm guessing since Peter Jackson hopped, skipped and jumped thru' three epics.
If you've got a few shillings spare this week can I implore you to buy 'Exit Music: Songs With Radio Heads'? It's an album of Radiohead covers that mostly come from the more electronic and experimental end of the musical spectrum. The version of 'Just' by Mark Ronson and the bloke who sings 'California' on 'The OC' is a thing of funky, big-grins-all-round wonder.
