Life is good, actually - nothing to complain about at all. Sorry, doom'n'gloom merchants everywhere, you'll just have to get your misery by proxy somewhere else for a bit.

footnote: general peachiness enhanced by new QUINNE set - reminds me of that Julian Cope classic 'Upwards At 45 degrees' wink

Back from my travels - four days in Venice to take in some culture and some carnival. Lovely weather - cold but sunny all the time. All the relaxing and cheeriness embued by the holiday was wiped out yesterday in one fell swoop when I came down with a lurgee-and-then-some, which had me thanking the architect who put our toilet so near our barh puke frown puke frown

Suffice...

Another week whizzes by... Julian Cope is going through is BIG riffs and lots of ROCK phase; I'm a big fan of the fella but the gig left me a bit cold - dunno why, normally it would be just my cup of tea... Cracking version of Reynard The Fox though.

Waiting for it to snow over here; New York (and the rest of the...

Hurrah! pay day has been and gone - some moolah in the bank after the lean Christmas period. Had to splash out on a new moby though - my last one got slightly smashed to fuck (not through idiocy or drunkeness; but it's a long story) so I'm wide awake and bushy-tailed(ish) on a Sunday morning putting all my numbers back in to a new...

FINALLY got a few days off... can catch up with the fun stuff in life. Pottered about the sales today - bought myself a copy of Nigella Lawson's Feast (hmmmm... Nigella, she can bake my muffins any day of the week biggrin ) which on closer inspection was signed by her own fair yet voluptuous hand. Bizzarely, I also picked up the very best of...

So that was Christmas - festive spirit somewhat banjax'd by events in Asia. My slacking-off-cos-nothing-happens-so-I'll-rake-in-the-cash shifts turned in to all-hands-on-deck-global-disaster work-a-thon (12 hours at a time) and it was grim. However, I have learnt that if you see a tidal wave heading towards you it's better to get to high ground then video it, rather than vice versa.

On the plus side at Christmas I...

So December is almost upon us - eep! The years are rolling by at an alarming rate (still, that means Christmas comes around quicker - 'rah!)

This afternoon's musings are bought to you via mini-superheros (up there), Pearl Jam's Best Of... and slightly sickly gingerbread latte.
crackheidi:
Ahh, Pearl Jam's best of, that expalins HMV's soundtrack today. Know what you mean about the years riolling by, I'm still chuffed at managing to get a couple of presents that people liked last year and now I've got to do it all again.

Christmas is coming - you can this by the ever-so festive Incredibles lights on Regent Street and what looks like they will be Harry Potter lights on Oxford St. There was a fantastically odd woman on the news yesterday explaining that angels and snowmen had been done to death at Christmas - I kinda think that's the point, ffs!

Went to see Hayseed Dixie last...
