So, my New Year's Eve was terrible. But let's not get into semantics. I just hope the rest of you had a good one for me.
I worked today for the first time in like, a week and a half. It almost felt foreign :/ Chloe and Monica came to visit me, so I took my break and we went to get food and talk about MAC makeup. Yeah, we're a little MAC gang, all up in da hood, blindin' ya wit pigments in ya EYEZZZZZZZZz.
Hahahh.
Why are most of Poppy Z. Brite's readers all sorrowful, mourning goths? I don't have a problem with goths, hell I used to be one in my first few years of highschool, but man, I hate the ones who just gotta live up to their goth-dom. Blech. It's so tired. Go ahead, be a goth, just... why do you have to like every single typical "goth" thing? The Nightmare Before Christmas, the Crow, Poppy Z. Brite, HP Lovecraft, Marilyn Manson, Cradle of Filth, etc. etc. and you've got the long greasy hair, the oversized band tshirt, wallet chain, fishnet sleeves, black and white striped nylons, and the badly applied cakey eyeliner... at least when I was all goth I did my makeup really well.
Meh. Who am I to care? I don't. It's just funny. Labels. Bleh. I honestly don't think you could label me if you tried. You can't label me by the music I like because I like such a vast range of music, most of it being classic rock. If you tried to classify me by my clothes, well, some people still label me a goth when they see me because I do tend to wear a lot of black... but I just like black. They see that I have long black hair (which is actually quite healthy and shiny btw, not greasy or stringy or hanging in my face...), and that I draw my eyebrows on. It's just my look! I guess I wear a lot of black leather cuffs and shit, and I've got a big silver tarantula brooch that I frequently wear etc. etc. but... I wouldn't call that a goth look. It's just me. I mix and match, I wear what I want, what's comfortable, and what appeals to me. And what appeals to my eyes isn't always the same type of thing. I fucking shop at Jacob Annex and Le Chateau sometimes, fer chrissakes. I don't care about being defined. I don't *want* to be defined. At all. I just wanted to be defined as me. As a package. Inside and out.
