I was just surfing the web and was reading about there are only 4 surviving WWI vets left in the United States. Wow, Back in 1990 I remember WWI vets coming through the gates and they were old dudes but I guess time goes on. I have talked to them about their experances. My 2 great Aunts who were a big part in my life as a kid were suppose to be married in like 1920 or so but their fiance's died in WWI and they never got married. Lived 107 years, and 103 years and never married. Wow.

This makes me think, when they were alive the countries in Europe had Kings and Queens, there were no cars, no Air Planes. No computers or Internet. Most of the people that are on here I would have never met. What a different time in just a little over a hundred years. I am totaly blown away as I write this People would get Polio and small pox.
My house was built in 1922 and I am amazed just at how things were done back then and have learned a lot while tearing apart my bathroom. My drain pipes are lead, the walls were all hand made, by a guy who mixed plaster, pigs hair or horsehair, and put it on slats. I am just amazed at craftsmanship as I guess I have always been amazed at that.

Oh well this one is a snoozer but I just had to write about my amazement.

wow only 4? damn, i thought there would be a lot more of them....I mean I guess it's been quite a few years but wow.

It is nice to be amazed by things like that, they really make you look at life differently. How is the bathroom going?

growing up i always though that war time seemed so romatic.. becuase i guess it was romanticized in movies and things... things always seemed simpler to me back then...
