Heyheyhey!

Well things seem to be on the up&up of late, so I'm currently one smiley panda biggrin

Things with P are going really well, my uni have set up my staff account bringing home the fact that in just over 3 months I'll be teaching ethics to medical students(!), I've got a weekend off coming up for which I think P and I are going camping, I've got a family 'do coming up this weekend, I've lost 5lbs since last week, and I've just bought my ticket for Bloodstock Open Air! biggrin biggrin biggrin

So I'm happy right now. Very very happy. biggrin

Under the spoiler, there's a bit on how the P thing is going in a little more detail, otherwise feel free to skip to the end...

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Well despite me spending all week petrified that he would, P didn't cancel on me, instead he collected me and - after some intense confusion, negotiation, and confusing negotiation, we eventually went for a meal followed by a drink, followed by a trip to the cinema (to see Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Oh the cheese biggrin). He insisted on paying for everything, I had to argue with him to let me pay the 1.60 for the 3D glasses! Over dinner he told me about his holiday, and then in the bar he finally explained to me what all the confusion was about back in May and why he'd wanted us to be friends before he asked me out.

Basically, there were three key areas that were worrying him back in May: 1. concerns brought about from his previous experiences in relationships, 2. awkwardness surrounding the fact I'd nearly dated his mate, and 3. Apparently, he just didn't want to mess things up. It'd be remiss of me to go into more detail about 1, but basically he wanted us to have a strong base as friends so that if (or, as he said, "when" (confident tongue)) something went wrong, we'd be more likely to keep in touch as friends. I must admit though, I was more than a little swoony when he straight out said "I really like you" :3

The date itself was relatively platonic, bar the conversation mentioned above and a teeny hint of flirting. Looking back now, I can see this is a good thing - I'm not actually all that huge on PDAs and when things feel as comfortable as they do with P then I daresay that's a good sign. That said, at the time I was a little concerned that nowt had happened physically, and very nearly asked him on the car ride home whether we were actually dating now tongue Luckily I didn't, and I got my answer when he was parked on my street. I leaned in for a hug, and he kissed me blush Though that when it got more than a little awkward...

The kiss was very passionate and, on his end, grabby. I don't normally like that, but considering the fact that this had been a long time coming, then I didn't really mind in his case tongue. But yes. Passionate clinch. That's important to note. Especially when he suddenly piped up: "Roxy... is there an old woman watching us?" I turned around. And replied in absolute mortified horror: "Oh my gods that's my nan...". We broke apart, and with a lot of nervous, embarrassed laughing, we broke apart and said our goodbyes.
It later turned out that my nan hadn't seen anything (she didn't even know it was his car) and that she was stood on the street waiting to speak to my aunt, who she hoped to intercept on her way home from the pub. I explained this to P.

Although I'd explained all this to P, I was still worried he'd want to stop dating me over it. But my fears were allayed yesterday and today. Last night, we spoke on Skype and he said we were still on for our date on Friday (and liked my idea of a pub crawl in Sheffield - he knows more about the pub life in my city than I do, so I've asked him to show me smile ), then he asked me when I have my weekend off this month and suggested I spend all of it with him and that we go camping by the lakes biggrin This, combined with the fact he asked me for a drink tonight -and replied: "bah!" when I had to turn him down (I'm working frown ) - well, all these things are making me feel maybe things really are going well, that he's not gonna randomly change his mind, and I can just let myself enjoy dating one of the most ace blokes I've ever met smile

...And encounter my closing pic (as per the tradition) tongue
Here's me being extremely mature in Camden last month... wink

(Actually, that's the outfit I wore on mine and P's date, just in case you were curious wink)

Hope you're all well and having an awesome July kiss

Thank you for the epic hug smile It can be absolutely fantastic one day and then a total nightmare the next.....today was ok

Here is a sneak peek of my trip at the weekend

I've never been to lake Windermere, so please put loads of photos up.

That's a fantastic opportunity to fall into, it may feel out of your depth but in no time at all you'll pick it up smile

I've bumped into Dylan Moran many times in Edinburgh, the first time was at a bus stop. I stood next to him for about 10 mins, just me and him smile All I did was smile and say hello smile
