~sigh~ I just found yesterday that my tattoo artist Eric is retiring from tattooing at the end of May and going off to join the military I'm really, really sad and I'm going to miss him so much. He's an amazing artist, person and friend. I've enjoyed the last year getting to know him and also kind of getting to know myself through him. I have 3 appointments left with him and then that's it, I'm so sad. I'm not sure if I'm going to switch over to Adam one of the other guys that works at the shop; I've been checking out his portfolio and it looks awesome but then yesterday I saw a piece that he did on a friend on mine this last Tuesday and well, it kinda looked like crap. There is always James the other artist at the shop, who actually finally started being nice to me a couple weeks ago and not looking at me as if I'm a piece of trash, and he is an awesome artist, his work is absolutely stunning and breath-taking but he's also booked months in advance (currently booked until July). I'm so frustrated! It took me years to find an artist and shop that I like, someone who could understand my artistic vision of where I want my body suit to go and who could deliver the kind of work that I want. Eric was everything I wanted in an artist and now he's leaving... he has good reason to leave because of a long-running injury that is impacting his work so I can completely understand his motivation for doing so, but it's just so frustrating to loose such an amazing person. 2007 really does suck so far...
