I was computer-less for the last week or so.

You never realise how "addicted" you are to something until it is taken away.

I'm glad to be back.

Now someone please fill me in on everything that happened on the internet in the past week.

Please and thank you. smile

It's okay - you didn't miss anything. We were waiting until you got back.

Okay, Dick Cavett's Rock Icons is the greatest DVD ever. I'm addicted.

In-depth interviews with top notch artists (Bowie, Joplin, Sly Stone, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder) spanning 1969 to 1974 and exclusive in-studio performances of (then) unreleased tracks.

I love summer. And sweat. And even balls.

Oh, and! I forgot to mention that I couldn't go to the Black Angels due to evil Starfucks scheduling (and nobody wanting to take the shift for me). So sucks to that. But! I did download a live show of theirs from (ahem) NPR. It was "rad," as the kids say.

I'm doing a DJ set tomorrow (the 4th) at Thtre Plaza on St-Hubert street.

I'll be spinning some space-age bachelor pad music (Marc Moulin, Stereolab, Air) early on and then it's hard funk (Betty Davis, James Brown, Joe Tex, Don Covay), electroclash (Peaches, Adult) and assorted gems from the 80s and 90s.

It's $5 to get in and I think booze is gonna be pretty...

I have a new favourite band: The Autumn Defense

Imagine America with balls, Seals & Croft without the patchouli stink and driving in SoCal in 1974 and you have the Autumn Defense.

Live they were all cool harmonies, organ flourishes and sizzling fretwork.

On a related matter, I have listened to Donovan's Hurdy Gurdy Man so often already today that I think I need to...

Deal!

Not bad, but it's a bit too rock for me, I like the jazzier versions. And, of course, no one plays organ like Brian Auger.
