Is SuicideGirls' Mission of "Alternative Beauty" Still Relevant in 2013?

After reading this article, I thought to myself, What a good question!
For me, SG is more than making alternative beauty well-known or accepted. For me, it is about empowerment, a stage for my confidence in my body and my mind. Its about celebrating what our mama gave us! I like to feel sexy, what girl doesnt?! And to have a chance to forever be immortal as an official SuicideGirl/model is even better than getting a raise (ok, not really, I would love a raise).
Whoever wrote this article certainly did not look at the site thoroughly as there are many different women in many different sizes and colors.
Yes, Member review is a lot like a Hot or Not site, but what you get with SuicideGirls is positive feedback, encouragement, and ideas on how to expand your photo-sets to gain more fans. SG fans are a special breed of porn lovers. Most have a decent level of respect and admiration for the SGs and their hard work.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is who cares what the mission is, we just wanna have fun and look pretty.
