Yeah, so I totally bought the new Harry Potter book last Monday and had it finished by Thursday. So much for waiting for vacation.
It was good. I can't wait to see how they butcher it to make it into a movie. I agree with what a lot of people are saying in the HP group here, both the positive points and the negative ones....

I've been having one of those "I'm getting old" weeks. I've managed to fuck up my right foot somehow, resulting in what I think is a case of plantar fascitis. It means I can't walk long distances, and I can't really be on my feet for very long. I've been staying home from the gym, and just doing yoga to try and keep it limber....

Have great camp. And Enjoy that Book. its been a long time coming.
We've reached the end of Dadstravaganza 2007. It was a great weekend. The weather was perfect, allowing us to do the touristy thing on Saturday and hit Washington Park, visiting the Japanese Gardens and the Rose Gardens. I believe that we may have been the only English-speaking folks who decided to do that, as all around us we heard snatches of different languages. Japanese, Chinese,...

HA! we almost went into the city grill on Sunday, the line was too long. I'm sorry we missed each other.
Greetings from the middle of Dadstravaganza 2007, the month where we receive visits from not one, but both dads! Last weekend was EnergyChannel's papa, next weekend will be mine.
The first visit was awesome. His dad enjoys fine dining, so there was much of that to be had. We got to go to fancy-schmancy restaurants that I could never justify and/or afford. Paley's and...

I read that as Dadastravaganza 2007. I thought you and EnergyChannel had spent the week hiding behind apples and walking around saying, "This is not a pipe." or somehting.

Friday through Sunday. not sure when exactly I'm arriving or leaving.
It's always fun going to a Raveonettes show, if only for the drooling guys who wait at the front of the stage for Sharin. I think I was the only female at the front before they went on. I just didn't want to deal with another dicky Doug Fir crowd, and figured the front of the stage was the best way to avoid that. But...

I'm really looking forward to that. We probably won't venture out much until I'm working again, but we're both looking forward to meeting all the Portland people.
A word on show-going etiquette: If you are going to see a band play, and you make a point to stand near the front of the stage, please don't spend the whole show shrieking with your girlfriends in a display that tells everyone how drunk you are.
Oh, and a personal note to the blond idiot making out with his three girlfriends: no one cares...

I had fun with mine.
It was Kenetic madness, followed by sleep and lols of BBQ.
I had been watching a friends cat for the last 2 months. I would have been cool if they had told us that the cat was not fixed. It howled all night for 2 months striaght. I now feel that I deserve all the sleep that I can get.

I hear the Corvalis race is preaty cool. Its More a sieres of short runs though, I think.
This year was wierd.....The race was off, the Race was on.... then it was offf....then Finally it was ON.
Good Stuff though. It was run and with an eye on next year, we have begun design concepts. I see a pirate ship on the horizon.

Today I saw an ad for Sears appliances with Brendan Benson playing in the background. It was definitely a WTF??! moment.

Hey, thanks for noticing my return! I've missed the place. Different, but I've missed it.

With a puff of smoke and a press of coffee I have found my self back on SG. Yeah, they gave me a deal. I couldn't say no. Thanks for the recognition.
I've been busy planning a new resturaunt. I think I'll be able to pull it off. I'm going to take over the Pacfic Flavors building and re-open the bar and grill that was there. I'm also going to focus on breakfast service.
I think that's one of the things I miss the most about Portland. So much good breakfast food. The place I keep remembering is that breakfast only place downtown. High ceilings, open ducts, and great potatos and omlets.
Any who...
enjoy the city, and I'll chat more later.

Another great weekend. The show on Friday was awesome. Eric Johnson opened, and sang a few songs solo, a few with members of Califone, and a few with James Mercer. The perks of having so many musicians living in your town, I guess. James did a good stand-in for the female vocals on the Fruit Bats' songs. Eric sang three of my favorites, Canyon Girl...

I've decided I'm going as Sylar for Halloween. I'm going to hide glowsticks in my hands and say "Boom" a lot.

Well, I wouldn't have said clever, but since both you and E did, I'll go with Yes.
I'm sitting here listening to the Califone that EnergyChannel has put on. Since this is also the band that we will be seeing a few hours, I guess that officially makes us that guy.
So excited for this show tonight. It takes away the sting of missing BRMC. Damn them having to be in town on the same night and playing at a shittier...

What a great weekend that was. On Saturday, the weather was beautiful, so we took a walk through the neighborhood, marveling at the many overpriced townhomes that are nevertheless selling like hotcakes. When is the housing market going to dip here? It's taken a nosedive in many other places. I would like to be a homeowner someday, please.

Starfruit. What a great idea.
It's got a bunch of his recent short stories, all of them are good.
