We opted to be social with the SG PDX kids rather than be rockin' with the college kids. The Epoxies play again at Dante's in a few weeks anyway.
Dinner was fun, and very well-attended. My stomach still feels distended from the amount of food I consumed. It had been awhile since I'd been to Devil's Point, and it was fun watching the girls be...

The weekend is almost here. I'm weighing the merits of dragging the other half to see the Epoxies at the college tomorrow night. On the one hand, there won't be any alcohol served, but on the other hand, that means less chance of drunken large people blocking my view. Then again, we may just feel like dinosaurs among the college kids. But the Epoxies are...

Oh, go see them. I love their live shows. Besides we have to show the kids that the dinsaurs still roam the earth upon occasion.

I stopped going to shows for a while in my twenties because I felt old. now, I think I'm growing into my 'check out that old guy into the show stage'
Work feels like it's been much busier than usual lately. Hence, the no journal updating, although I tend to think of things to write as I'm in my car, but by the time I walk through the door, my brain has left me.
One thing, though. We had a student who died of cancer last year, and apparently she continued to get paid for her...

What about hospital bills? Maybe insurance didn't cover all of her cancer treatments...
Ahhh, the weekend. It seemed like a long week at work, even though it was only four days and the semester doesn't even officially start until this Monday. A flurry of last-minute projects and crises to settle, before the students return.

Dave and I should have a party soon.

It would make us clean it! Mwahahaha!
Today is the last day of my vacation, and it has been a great one. Lots of time spent with my dad, New Year's Eve spent with my best friend, and every last cent of my Christmas money, well, spent.
My friends who came up for the weekend left this morning, and that is what made the vacation officially feel over. This one last day...

Happy new year everyone! I'm a bit tipsy, and I was supposed to be the designated driver. Whoops. We made it home okay, though. It's difficult to type without making a million typos. It was way fun, though.

Oh wow, old me as a holy terror, sounds like King Kong.
Drunk dreams are always entertaining, for sure.
Greetings from soggy Humboldt County! Sorry I haven't been on here at all, but the family and friends have kept me plenty occupied. My best friend and his boyfriend will actually be coming to Portland this weekend, so some of you may be able to meet them.
Christmas was aweseome. My dad was way too generous as usual, and we got a brand new set...

We leave in two days! So much to do. I wonder where my suitcase is? I haven't seen it since we moved. Oh dear.

You're just leaving because I'm in the state, right?
What, you can't handle how COOL Oregon became, the moment I landed?

Merry Christmas!
Okay, now it's snowing. Like, for real. Three-day weekend, perhaps?

Le sigh.
I head back on the 28th.

It is currently 25 degrees outside. I'm very puzzled as to why it still hasn't snowed a single flake in the last two weeks. I'm no longer disappointed by this, as now there's plenty of shit to do in preparation for leaving and present-giving and party-going and sanity-keeping and all.
I'm just still puzzled.

Global Warming.
jehu_:
It's due to high pressure. Clear days, colder nights. Need a trough of low pressure, but then usually the air coming in with a low pressure front comes too directly off the ocean and doesn't have enough time over land to cool off enough to drop below freezing by the time it crosses Portland. We need a number of specific factors to occur in a certain order that I won't go into detail here for it to snow.
Mine got better. Jon and I have worked some shit out and agreed to spend some more time trying to be what we need for eachother bla bla..
Thanks for the b-day wishes! I am going to viatnamese food tonight!
