My 50-something somewhat conservative officemate asked me to bring in music to enrich our current selection of Norah Jones, Beethoven, and George Harrison. I'm starting slow, with some Rosie Thomas, Postal Service, Nick Drake, etc. Later, I'll see if I can work her up to Stereolab, TV on the Radio, and Delgados. Baby steps, guys. Baby steps to cast off the shackles of mediocre music.
In other positively thrilling news, my somewhat frizzy reddish mop is getting cut tonight. I'm going to one of those salons where you pay less for the "new talent." This will be the first time in about 10 years that someone besides my regular stylist will be approaching my head with scissors. Keep your fingers crossed and say a little prayer for me.
