Every day, I ride the shuttle bus to and from work. Every day, I'm sitting amongst undergrad, grad and law school students, mainly women. And every day, I listen in wonder to how some of them speak. There is one law student in particular who is the quintessential "like" girl, what passes for the next wave of Valley Girl talk these days.
Now, I'm not saying I don't have a bit of this in me as well, and I know that it's a speech pattern that is nearly impossible to drive out once it's ingrained, but I'm also not studying to be a freakin' LAWYER, for god's sake. If I think this woman sounds like a 12-year-old, how is she ever going to win a case?
It boggles the mind, I tell you.
