It's been a week, so I suppose that's long enough to let that entry stay up. Even if I don't really like the politics around here, I'll probably stick around for awhile longer, because I do still enjoy the people.
Highlights of this weekend include a daytrip up to Seattle to return Elliot. He's at that stage where he gets carsick every time on long trips. We were literally five blocks away from his mom's house when it happened this time. Good thing I was the genius who bought him strawberry orange juice on the way up.
Just because it's pink doesn't make vomit any more attractive. Remember that, kids.
On the way back to Portland, we saw a horrific accident involving a car that must have flipped a few times, a body on a stretcher, a family standing by who presumably witnessed the whole thing, and a guy being slammed against a cop car while being handcuffed. I was almost going to take pictures, but I didn't feel like exploiting someone else's pain.
We went to a show that night, the first one in over a month, I think. We saw the Upsidedown and the Out Crowd, both of whom were very good. I spotted a mere two SGs, London and Anais, and zero members, although the place was pretty packed. Because EnergyChannel's brother lives with the guy who owns the record label the Upsidedown were on, he was on the list. I, however, was cut, as were all other +1s, because of the turnout. To make it up to us, he gave us two free drink tickets. Somehow, two Cape Cods managed to make me more smashed than I've been in quite awhile, but according to EnergyChannel, it was "very cute" watching me slur and act silly. I beg to differ.
Sunday was spent nursing a wee headache and lazing about the house. We watched a grainy copy of "Without a Paddle", which was about the level of dumb I was expecting, and EnergyChannel cooked an amazing dinner of seasoned chicken tenderloin and brown rice.
Yep, so that's my weekend. This got rather long, so I'll be surprised if that many people read it. I've noticed that the shorter and more superficial the entry, the more comments I get on it. Actually detailing my mundane existance never results in much.
This Friday is our one-year anniversary. Where's a good, not too expensive place for dinner in Portland? Anyone know?
