Busy weekend. We drove Elliot back to Seattle on Saturday, and stopped by IKEA on the way back. My first time in one of those, and somehow we managed to find me a lamp and find EnergyChannel a peppermill AND eat delicious meatballs and potatoes in under half an hour. Unheard of. Especially since they make it damn near impossible to get out of there. I felt like one of those lab rats in the maze, searching for the peanut butter. But I got a nifty floor lamp for 20 bucks, so I'm happy. Don't worry, IKEA. I shall return and spend hours in your furniture and coffee table-laden world. My lamp is a NOT lamp, which means we could have some existential dilemmas eventually. I am a lamp, but I'm a NOT lamp.
Gotta love the Swedes.
After returning from Seattle, we hightailed it to the Roseland to catch Elf Power, the Fiery Furnaces, and the Shins. I had purchased tickets, since we weren't sure if EnergyChannel had managed to get on the list, and found out halfway through the show that he had indeed been on the list, with a +1 to boot. So there went 40 bucks unnecessarily. It was a good show, though, so I guess it's okay. We ran into hansel there, and I was glad he decided to emerge from his hole to attend the show, although he did miss Elf Power, who were really good. Fiery Furnaces were okay, and the Shins were great.
We got home after 1:00, and I realized that all we had eaten that day was the IKEA food. Damn, those little meatballs are filling.
Sunday was the bbq at Germany's house, where we met a few more members and had a grand old time. There was a scuffle involving Ryan's dog and Tankboi's much smaller dog, but other than that, it was smooth sailing. Hot dogs, chips, PBR, and hard lemonade (since I'm a freak and I don't drink beer). What else do you need, really? Germany's house was very cool, and she has the perfect backyard for bbqs.
Now it's Monday, and I need to run errands. The sun is shining, and the gym and bank are calling my name.
And how was your weekend?

This name may stick a while, or it won't.
Either way I'm just having fun with it.
