Okay. Things are looking up a bit. Thanks to everyone for the well-wishing and suggestions and everything else. I had a meeting with HR today and I can get on unemployment, so that will be a bit of a cushion for a while. Medical and dental benefits will have to go away though, as I'm not going to pay $300 a month. So I just can't get deathly ill or break anything until I'm safely re-employed. 
We didn't make it to Metric, as my layoff news managed to thoroughly depress both of us on Monday. That's cool, though, as Broken Social Scene will be here towards the end of the month, so it will be half of the same people.
We leave for the cabin on Friday! Yay! And it's supposed to pretty much rain for the next week. Not so yay. But good hot tub weather.
I think we'll hit Pirate tomorrow, as I could definitely use an outing.
