You know those people that you meet in life, usually by pure chance, that you just seem to fit with? Like a key to a lock, a hand to a glove, a foot to a mouth. Okay, maybe not so much that last one. I was thinking about these kinds of people on my drive home tonight, thinking how truly amazing it is to have a connection that deep with someone. And not strictly in the sexual sense either, you perverts.
My best friend and I are like that. We really seem to be sharing a brain. It has been that way since I met him back in high school. It was scary how similar our thought processes were, how quickly we would reach the same conclusions, or giggle at the same stupid double entendres. We live in separate states now, but whenever we get back together, it takes all of about 14.5 seconds to regain that connection. I've never had it with anyone to that degree, but that's not to say that I don't have it with anyone else. He's supposed to have moved up here to Portland about a million times for the last 7 years that I've been here, but things keep getting in the way, consigning him to remain in Eureka for a bit longer. Usually it's money, or school, or work, or relationships. Currently, I think it's all of those together. Someday, though, he will make it up here. And my brain will be complete once again.
I hope that everyone has a chance to have a connection like that with at least one person in your lifetime, because it really is the best feeling to know that someone "gets" you.
That is all. Friday brings Quasi, Thermals, Minders and Swords Project, so I will return to rehashing shows for your waiting eyes and baited breath.
P.S. I got my new glasses! Yay! And it was sunny today!

Those arethe one'sto hang on to. Eureka is not that far. My "tight" group now resides as follows: 2 in Eugene, Ore; 2 in Madison Wisconson; 2 in Marquette, Michigan; one [me] in San Francisco but moving to LA; 1 in Chicago. We all manage to get together somewhere once a year.

Yay for sunny days! I feel lucky that I got two people like that. My boy and my best friend who I would be dating in a hear beat if we weren't both involved with other people
It's great knowing I have people who really get me and love me regardless. Have a wonderful weekend!
