The show was not as rocking as I wanted it to be. The Fiery Furnaces, though full of emotion and musicality, failed to ensnare me. Their vocals were kinda low. Ted Leo was better when I saw him last time. Of course, last time I was two feet from him at the Blackbird, while this time I was many, many feet from him surrounded by young folk at an all-ages show, accompanied by an extremely unenthused boyfriend who found Mr. Leo to be so annoying that he left about two songs in. Ah, well. Perhaps the music will redeem itself tomorrow, if I can manage to get off my ass and hit the Dirtbombs show. It's a bit less motivating to go alone, but I've been to many a show by myself, and it didn't kill me. Provided the show isn't already sold out, of course. We shall see.
