Yeah, so I totally bought the new Harry Potter book last Monday and had it finished by Thursday. So much for waiting for vacation. 
It was good. I can't wait to see how they butcher it to make it into a movie. I agree with what a lot of people are saying in the HP group here, both the positive points and the negative ones. Blah blah blah, everyone has an opinion on this book. I don't need to add mine.
Now, what am I going to read at Eagle Lake? I've been very slowly slogging my way through Underworld by Don Delillo, but I'm not enjoying it very much, and I need light reading for the trip. Last year I read my tome of the Chronicles of Narnia. Maybe this year I'll re-read the Lord of the Rings, in keeping with the theme.
Or I could just bring all 7 of the HP books and read them back-to-back.
We leave on Friday morning. Very excited to be getting out of town. We have a new tent and everything. So, if you have book recommendations, please leave them this week.
