There really is nothing like sleeping in your own bed after being away from it for days. The phrase "sleeping like a log" doesn't begin to describe the depths of sound sleep I acheived last night. I suppose driving all day helped, but still. Home sweet home.
The trip was fun. My step-nieces, aged 2 years and 5 weeks, were totally cute. EnergyChannel got to meet several more members of my family at the annual holiday party, and we both got to be awestruck by my second cousin's house up on the hill, complete with breathtaking views and separate workshop. Gleaming hardwoods, wine cellar, giant Christmas tree, and matching motorcycles were just the beginning. I really really really want to be rich someday. My cold ended soon after we arrived down there, so that was good. Maybe those Cold-Eez lozenges really work.
The greatest part is that now that we're home, I can still be on vacation, as work doesn't resume until January 2! Yay!
