Whilst driving home from my parents wedding last night (I'll get to the wedding bit in a moment....) a DJ on the radio was asking for people to text in their favourite Oz-related song (As in Australia - not Ozzy!) and it made me think quite randomly about Silverchair - a band I used to love during my grunge phase but probably haven't thought about in over 5 years....

...so naturally I got home and used the wonder of YouTube to take me back. Isn't it funny how the things, bands, songs, people, events, places etc that were once so important to you become a distance memory. It's made me realise two things

1) I'm getting old
2) Things that I worry about now won't even register on my radar in a few years so there is no point stressing myself out.

Two points that are at polar ends of the depressing scale!

So to my Ps wedding. Honestly, I love them but they drive me crazy! They got married when I was 9 and then promptly split up and got divorced only to get back together again - all within about a year! They said at the time they didn't like being married, it changed things so they've been living quite happily for the last 14 or so years unmarried but happily together.

When I got married in 2004 my Mama started getting upset that she was the only one left with my madien surname so she wanted Robs name again.....so yesterday they got married again. Crazy! They have had more years of happiness NOT being married so why was it neccesary to get married again? Don't get me wrong, I'm not against marriage, I love being married myself but I understand it doesn't work for everyone.

Of course I'd never dream of spoiling it for them - They had a nice day yesterday. My hubby and I were the only people at the ceremony and then we took some photos in the gardens and back to theirs for a cuppa. Very low-key but it seemed to be everything they wanted. Hopefully this time it will work out.
