a few months ago i purchased a beat up akai s612 and i hadnt really figured out where in the signal chain to place it. . until last night!
its a really cool piece of gear and i got it all with the original quick disk drive for only 40$!

tracking has been completed without any major problems, more studio time coming up on the 17th. im still not sure right now if i prefer 2" tape over hard disk . .

i managed to score a copy for about $10 (!) on ebay not too long ago...only problem is that i think its a shitty bootleg version, oh well...you get what you pay for i guess. just look around on ebay, or try checking some distros,i don't know who carries it though or if its been re-pressed
