Dwayne McDuffie, unfortunately, has passed away.
Comic fans and people who like the DCAU probably know all about him. In addition to being one of the guiding forces on shows like Justice League Unlimited, he was a great, prolific comic writer and also created Static Shock, who I'm sure many people have fond memories of growing up. He created Milestone Comics which was one of the first attempts to add cultural diversity to the comic medium and by all accounts was an absolutely great guy.
After Justice League was cancelled he wrote two more films for their excellent direct to dvd line, Crisis on Two Earths, and the adaptation of All Star Superman, which tragically, just came out today. Fortunately All Star Superman serves as a great swan song to a fantastic career.
He was only 49, far too young to be taken.
May he Rest in Peace, my thoughts are with his friends and family.

He definitely must have been quite the man judging by the tweets that comic writers and artists were putting out today. Definitely put out great work and was influential in the comic world, sad to see him go.
