In continuing this sort of obsession with the films of Edgar Wright, next Saturday, I'm going to a triple feature at the New Beverly Cinemas of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim. All three films will be introduced and discussed by Edgar Wright in person plus, what he says are some pretty special guests. I know it's a long shot, but I'm hoping for Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, plus the Scott Pilgrim cast that have come to the screenings before.
It was actually pretty scary as the tickets went on sale today at noon. I refreshed ever 2 seconds until they went on sale and I immediately hit order, and they took no time in telling me they were already sold out. That means those fuckers sold out in like, 8 seconds... less even. I was massively bummed, but I don't know what happened, but like, 25 minutes later, they went back on sale for something like, 25 seconds, and I got my tickets! It was a pretty epic moment if I do say so myself.
Anyway, this is gonna be a great night. I'm also attending a double bill the next weekend with Hitchcock's Frenzy and Brian De Palma's Dressed to Kill. Also with Edgar Wright. I'm excited, Season Two of The Wright Stuff has begun.
Just cause I'm curious, is anybody else out there going to the shows?
