Pretentious film blog ahead!!!

Well since I have a month off for winter from classes I figured I'd dive into a new director study. It's not nearly as impressive as it sounds, I just choose a director I find interesting and I go through and watch every film of theirs I can. I've done this with plenty of people. Really I guess the term study is pretty unfair as I'm just gonna watch their flicks.

So this time I decided I'd try something new and move out of all the directors that work here in the magical land of Hollywood. Aside from a bunch of Hong Kong pictures I know relatively little of movies around the world. All I've really seen are a handful of films by Kurosawa and like, one or two from various other people like Ingmar Bergman and Fellini.

Well right now I'm on this big Hong Kong movie kick, so I decided I'd watch the films of Wong Kar-Wai, who is probably one of the most acclaimed directors from the region... also I've never seen anything he's done. Plus, most of his stuff is on Netflix Instant Stream, which is awesome...

... so yeah, that's what's happening right now, there's no real end to this post is there?
