Ran into an old friend today, and to me, it was a very Christmas situation. I met her my senior year of high school, and eventually, she became one of my closest friends that year. She was very cool, I have yet to meet another person who would not just tolerate me talking about all the geeky things I talk about, but seemed to look forward to it. She made me laugh and in return, I tried my best to be somewhat humorous.
If I were to make a list of my favorite people who I actually know, she would certainly be up there. After graduation though, with everybody going off in different directions for college we lost touch, which happens.

Anywhoo, I was picking up dinner with my sister for the family and for the first time in... wow, I guess three years now, I saw her, or I guess she saw me. It would have been cool to have some grand Oh Shit it's been too long moment, instead my sister was standing there staring, so I felt awkward, and her family was staring at me, so I felt more awkward. And before we could have any sort of conversation she was rushed off, but you know what, even seeing her for just a minute or two has put me in a good mood. I came home afterwards and we decorated the tree and everything, so I guess with that, The Christmas season...

... begins. (Insert Christmas smiley that I'm sure someone knows how to do here)
