So the screening of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World at the New Beverly Cinema was amazing.
I was expecting just a few guests and really really hoping Edgar Wright would show up. How badly did I want him to show up? I would do horrible horrible things to meet him. Unforgivable things.
So we get there and around midnight they let us in. The lady who runs the cinema talks a bit and gives out a few prizes, unfortunately I didn't win but my friend did win a shirt. She then gets on the phone and says, "What would you like to say to the crowd Edgar?"
She puts the microphone up to the phone and I get excited, but we hear nothing and she just goes, "Oh well I guess that won't work" and hangs up. I get a little annoyed. She then finishes giving out prizes and then starts introducing the people who are gonna be here, by first introducing EDGAR FUCKING WRIGHT!!!
I lose my shit and he gets a standing ovation. He talks a bit and makes us all laugh, then proceeds to introduce the people who are here, and it is damn near EVERYONE. Director of Photography Eric Pope, Co-writer and also an Inglourious Basterd Michael Bacall, Aubrey Plaza, Johnny Simmons, Mark Weber, Brie Larson, Anna Kendrick, Brandon Routh, Satya Bhaba, Mae Whitman, Brian Lee o' Malley, and fucking Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers, Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead!!! I damn near went into a nerd coma.

So they talked for a bit and introduced the flick, we did a brief Q&A because some of the cast was gonna leave once the movie starts, and then the movie begins, BUT not before some hand picked trailers by Edgar Wright. We got Mortal Kombat, Super Mario Bros, Street Fighter, and The Wizard. I nearly cried from laughing while watching the trailers with that audience. It was great. The movie finally started and it was great, but I already knew that having seen it 10 times before this.
Afterwards Edgar Wright and some of the cast came back out and asked if we would like a really drunk Q&A, and obviously we did. It was fucking wonderful, we had some serious questions and some goofy stupid ones. We all had a damn good time. Edgar Wright was also stoned.
It was also Brie Larson's 21st birthday so we sang her Happy Birthday. I also thought it was really cool of her to still come out even though it was her birthday. After the Q&A they showed an exclusive clip from one of the bonus features on the upcoming Blu Ray which had a lot of the footage they shot using the Phantom Cameras, it was hilarious. We then stepped out and everyone was outside just talking to the fans and signing autographs and pictures and whatnot. Unfortunately I did not have the foresight to bring a fucking camera or something to sign, so I just stood there in awe of their presence.
BUT, the highlight of the night? Brie Larson was like, a foot away from me so I wished her Happy Birthday and told her I thought she did a great job and all that stuff, and she gave me a hug. Again, nearly fell into a nerd coma.
Who is Brie Larson? Shame on you.
Her.
And if you don't know who Edgar Wright is, then seriously, we can no longer be friends.
Best news? On November 12th, it's happening again! You can be damn sure I'm heading out again, and this time I'm gonna be fucking prepared.

I'm not a big fan of Scott Pilgrim but even I gotta admit that whole night sounded epic.
