The Con was excellent!
Thursday I showed up, and after wandering the hall for a while headed over to hall H for The Expendables followed by Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Expendables was cool, although it is interesting to note that in real life, Sly Stallone actually doesn't have an accent. Scott Pilgrim however, was awesome! They had damn near everyone there. Michael Cera showed up in a captain america costume. They showed some footage, then at the end showed the fucking movie... for those who got a white button at the beginning of the show, I didn't get one, but it was exciting nonetheless. Afterwards we went to Ric Meyer's Superhero Kung Fu Extravaganza, it was awesome, and I actually got to chat with Ric Sunday in the hall.
Friday was a bit of a fail since we missed our damn panels, but we did kill the entire day exploring the exhibit hall, and we purchased some awesome stuff.
Saturday morning I approached Bob, nervous as fuck and got a picture as well as a sweet poster and got it signed. Oh how I wish words came out of my mouth when I tried talking to her, as it stands, I just nervously said thanks about ten million times. It was good times. Later that day we went to the Paul panel, which is the new film written by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and has just about the most amazing cast including Pegg and Frost, Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Seth Rogen, Sigourney Weaver, Bill Hader and many more. Interesting note, when asked about the Arrested Development movie, Jason Bateman said he wants it to happen, and thinks it will happen. So good news there.
Other nerdy things conspired after that including Harrison Ford showing up, as well as the entire cast of the Avengers showing up including Robert Downey Jr. Scarlett Johansson and Joss Whedon. Two big things happened that day though, First, some guy got stabbed in the eye with a protractor, which resulted in cops coming in, and paramedics, it was insane cause it was like, 100 feet away from me. The other big thing was that during the Kevin Smith panel, after asking his question, some guy actually proposed to his girlfriend. It was nice, although when asked how their sex life was by Kevin Smith, she said, "Well, I mean, I've been with a lot of guys." Great way to start an engagement.

That would be nice! I'm going to hop that's the case, so I can skip the whole money-borrowing guilt phase. I'm really really hoping. I went back and bugged some of the places I put applications in to again today, and got a couple more "we'll look over your application again"s, so hopefully one of those will pan out if this interview today didn't.

I do for the nicer retail type jobs, but I'm kinda under the impression that when applying at places like Spencer's or Hot Topic it's probably better not to look TOO nice, or you get that "what are you doing in HERE?" look from the managers, since that's what happened the first time. I might still need help. If nothing works out by the end of the week, I'm going to assume it's not going to without a resume.
